Questions whether a message from Phthia or Argive lamentation is heard; queries why the Atreidae led people here, whether for Helen, and whether the Atreidae alone suffer husbands losing wives (I 338–341).
Did you alone hear some message from Phthia (Π 12 and 13)? Or do you too lament for the Argives, how they are perishing (Π 17)? They circumflex also the confirmatory particle: “And why did the son of Atreus bring the host here, having gathered them? Was it not on account of fair-haired Helen? Or do the sons of Atreus alone love the wives of mortal men?” (Ι 338–341.)
